This year, our company has undergone some dramatic changes. In May, we launched our hosted CMS service, offering for the first time an integrated solution for management of online editorial content, Web advertising, and photo reprint sales. As we move forward into this exciting new territory, our role in the world of news media is shifting.

Where we once concerned ourselves exclusively with reprint sales, we now offer a suite of tools to handle a publication’s entire online presence. In an effort to keep abreast of this expansion, we have decided to change the name of our company. Beginning in January, Context Craft will be known as Detroit Softworks.

Detroit Softworks is our new face, but inside we’re the same animal. The business has not changed hands or restructured. Our existing customers will continue to receive the same high quality of service and support as ever. Transactions related to reprint sales will still be filtered through our Photo Reprint Services wing, and there will be no changes to the processes used to collect online credit card payments from reprint customers or disburse monthly revenue checks to newspapers.

Fotobroker is, and will continue to be, a major part of what we do. We will continue to develop and improve it — both as a standalone product and an integrated component of our CMS package. Even now, improvements are underway that will allow us to increase the range of products we offer and grant shoppers an unprecedented ability to customize their reprint orders.

Although service to our current customers will not be interrupted or altered, we would like to make note of a few significant changes, effective immediately:

  • Our primary Web presence will reside at detroitsoftworks.com, which contains detailed information on all the services we offer.
  • Support requests and other inquiries should be directed to support [at] detroitsoftworks [dot] com. We will continue to monitor the previous account, but please update your address books as soon as possible. If you have an individual contact with an “@contextcraft.com” email, you may simply substitute “@detroitsoftworks.com” into the address — all our personal accounts have been ported over.
  • The new permanent home of our company blog is detroitsoftworks.com/blog. This is a good page to bookmark, because in addition to the latest company news, we’ll be posting info on marketing strategies, featured customer site profiles, helpful tips for getting the most from our software, and more.
